Bloodline...
May 11, 2008

code

Elizabeth Vargas from ABC America looks at a new documentary which adds another twist to the tale exploited so successfully by Dan Brown in his novel the Da Vinci Code - the legend of a "bloodline" from Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene.

In Southern France, a British film maker and an amateur archaeologist uncover a series of intriguing artefacts, one of which could be the fabled "cup of Christ" or Holy Grail.

The search finally leads to a tomb which holds a body covered by a shroud with a red emblem which may be related to the Knights Templar.

While the film-maker himself admits none of this "evidence" proves Jesus and Mary Magdalene married and had children, it is sure to re-ignite the theological debate sparked off by the Da Vinci Code.
