A draft report that could pave the way for Australia to go nuclear is due for release this week. The Switkowski Inquiry will hand down expert judgement on whether we should adopt nuclear power and perhaps even enrich uranium. That we're even having such an inquiry is a major leap for Australia. We've previously been fiercely opposed to the nuclear option because of fears and risks both radioactive and political. So why has the Howard Government warmed to a nuclear future?
