When Drugs Don't Work

16 year old Reis Gray was a healthy Sydney teenager who had what everyone thought was a bad dose of the flu. He was treated with antibiotics for a suspected lung infection, but within days he was on life support, a victim of a newly evolved superbug. He died from necrotising pneumonia; his lungs were eaten by a drug resistant superbug, called MRSA. more

New laws banning association among individuals in bike gangs have been passed in South Australia. The first of their kind in Australia, many are calling them unjust and discriminatory. The new laws, which would enable the Attorney-General and Police Commissioner, Mal Hyde, to declare any group a criminal organisation mean bike groups now have to decide whether to fight the laws or disband their clubs. more
